Fire photography started for me as a stepping stone. I decided that I needed to preserve what I saw for all to see. So I soon figured out that taking pictures at a fire scene would get me closer to the action and allow me to meet the people that I admired most.
When you take a photo you have successfully captured that moment forever. When I go back to look at a particular shot of a fire that I photographed, the photo brings back the particulars of the job(memories) as if it happened yesterday. Through my photos I hope to keep the history of the "BIG ONES" and various departments that I have buffed alive and well.
I have been lucky enough to have had several of my pictures published in Firehouse Magazine, !st Responder Newspaper, 1997 IFSTA Calendar front cover, several fire photography websites and various firehouse walls around the City of Bridgeport.
I am a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Bridgeport Fire Department. I have been on the job for ten years. I still buff and photograph fires, with more modern technologies at my fingertips. This website is hopefully a new beginning to a long career of chasing the "BIG ONE". Thanks for stopping by, take a look around and if you feel like it leave a comment.
